Within a Partner Portal View (Custom Partner Views or Default Partner Views), you can restrict the visibility of individual pages by Partner Groups. This feature is useful for restricting individual pages to certain types of users, such as by user role or location.

Useful Tips:

  • By default, a page is visible to all users.
  • Multiple partner groups can be selected for a page's filter. If a partner is a member of any of the partner groups for the page, they will be able to view it.
  • If a top-level page is restricted for a partner group, the subpages under that page will also be restricted.
  • You can use Custom Partner Views in tandem with page visibility restrictions to drill down portal access for complex partner groups. The portal will first select the correct Custom Partner View, and then show the pages appropriate to the user based on its page visibility restrictions.

To restrict page visibility within a Partner Portal View:

  1. Navigate to Partner Portal > Site Configuration.
  2. Select the Partner Portal View you’d like to edit.
  3. Click the page for which you’d like to restrict visibility.
  4. In Page Details, under Visibility, select the Partner Group or Groups that will have access to the page.

  5. If you're adding Courses or Certifications pages to the view, you can also choose whether to enable filters on the page, based on the tags you're using for learning (LMS) content. You can also choose to deliver a subset of your training content to your partners. For more information, see Adding Courses/Certifications to the Partner Portal.
  6. Continue this process for any other pages you’d like to restrict within the selected Partner Portal View.
  7. Once you’ve completed setting your page visibility restrictions, scroll down and click Save.
  8. At the top of the page, click the dropdown next to View As. Here, you can preview the different versions of the view that will be presented to the Partner Groups that you selected for page visibility restriction.

    • If a page's visibility is restricted for the selected Partner Group, you will see a View Restricted icon to the left of the Page Name.

    • If a partner is a member of multiple Partner Groups, their menu will display all pages visible to any of their partner groups.
    • If Off is selected, you can see what the Partner Portal View would look like if no page visibility restrictions are set for the Partner Portal View.
    • If Other is selected, you will see what the Partner Portal View looks like for partners with no page visibility restrictions applied.

If a Partner Group’s definition includes additional User Segmentation Rules, only the users in the Partner Group that match those User Rules will be able to see the restricted page.

For example:

  • Partner X has users A, B, and C.
  • Partner Group Product X Partners includes Partner X and some user rules that only match User B.
  • The Campaigns page has Product X Partners as its Visibility setting in the portal site navigation.

Only user B will see the Campaigns page in the portal.
