Overview

Opportunities ideally map to the partners CRM opportunities. these are different to deals, as they are registered to the suppliers.

Opportunities are viewed as a "traditional" approach, whereas deals are a newer approach with Pricebooks and currency support. Opportunities attach themselves to a product, itself being a standalone object with its own name/SKU/description, etc.

Deal Registration Model

Supplier expectations:

This is a simple workflow initiated by the partner:

If the partner has an existing opportunity, the opportunity needs to be converted into a deal by registering it:

An existing partner opportunity would only ever REFERENCE a deal. Changes to an opportunity may update a deal, but changes to a deal will NOT update an opportunity (since the partner has now taken full ownership of the opportunity entirely).

Additionally, if you are the CAM and want to register a deal, you could do that also through the Unifyr UI.  The only difference would be the need to select a partner the CAM has access to.
