Gamification is a configurable engagement framework that allows suppliers to run point-based contests for their channel partners. Suppliers define activities that partners can complete to earn points, ranging from platform actions such as course completions or deal registrations to off-platform activities with manual uploads of proof of work. Activities are organized into time-bound contests with leaderboards and rewards, motivating partners to drive target behaviors like pipeline creation, certifications, and campaign execution.

Note

Gamification is available for Unifyr Grow and Scale subscriptions.

Go to Partner Management > Partners > Gamification to manage your contests and activities.

These are the key building blocks of a contest:

Contests
You can create and manage partner contests with configurable start/end dates. Contests move through automatic status transitions based on their start and end dates (Scheduled → Active → Ended) and support segmentation by region, tier, or custom fields.

Completion is measured at partner level, not individual user.

Enrolment
There are two options for enrolment into a contest, which you specify when creating the contest:

  • Partners can self-enrol (opt-in)
  • Auto Enrol - all users in an eligible partner account are automatically opted in when the contest becomes active based on its configured start date.

Activities
Contests are built around point-bearing activities with configurable display order and point values. Activities can be configured for single completion or be repeatable, either up to a defined maximum number, or with the option for unlimited completions. Activities that can be carried out in the portal are automatically verified as complete. You can specify that a partner should submit proof of completing off-platform activities, and then manually confirm their success/failure. Completion tracking and snapshots of progress are maintained throughout the contest.

For activities not completed in portal, partners submit proof of activity completion via file uploads, screenshots, or URLs. Supplier admins then review submissions through an approval/rejection workflow for all manually verified activities.

Points and Scoring
You specify the points that are up for grabs for each activity in a contest. Points are awarded per completed activity. A partner’s rank in a contest is calculated from their cumulative activity points.

Leaderboard
Leaderboards give real-time rankings for each contest:

  • Can support segmented views (e.g. by partner tier or region)
  • Show rank movement indicators (Rising / Falling / Unchanged)
  • Include a top-performer podium highlighting the top 3 positions
  • Allow configurable partner name visibility (including anonymization).

Leaderboard snapshots support historical reporting at key points throughout the contest's lifespan, and admins with the required permission have access to trend data and leaderboard reports.

Tiers & Rewards
Tiers and rewards are configured independently. Suppliers define how many tiers exist and the rank ranges that qualify for each (e.g. the top 10 partners will make it to the Gold tier). Rewards are configured separately, as internal points and credits, and can be associated with contest outcomes as needed.

Admin Capabilities
Admins can create, configure, and publish contests; manage activities and proof requirements; review submission queues; configure leaderboards per contest; set up and manage tiers and rewards; and access reporting on leaderboard trends and snapshots.

New permissions in the Partner Management category allow eligible supplier users to carry out activities:

  • Gamification Manager - create/manage contests and activities
  • Gamification Reviewer - review proof submissions and access analytics
