Affiliate attribution is a method used to identify and reward the specific partner who influenced their contacts to marketing touchpoints like a product information sign-up. The partner's identity is carried along their prospects' journey from initial interaction to arrival at the supplier's own website.

In Unifyr, when a partner personalizes and shares campaign content (email, social post, etc.) from the partner portal, any outbound link in that content can be automatically rewritten to carry the partner's unique affiliate/tracking code as a UTM-style query parameter. The link can also identify the specific content piece or campaign in which it originated. That way, when a prospect clicks through and lands on the supplier's site, the supplier's own analytics and CRM can attribute resulting website traffic back to the partner who generated it, and optionally see which types of content are performing best.

You, as the supplier, configure the attributes that get appended to the content links in Partner Marketing > Affiliate Links > Affiliate Links. For more information, see Configure Affiliate Linking. Once this is done, there is no action for the partner - all links from content will automatically be decorated in this way.

Notes

Affiliate Links can be configured with a Unifyr Scale subscription.

All links from content are automatically decorated with the affiliate parameters, except these types of link (for some, updating them may break functionality):

  • Unsubscribe links
  • mailto:, tel:, sms: links
  • javascript: links
  • Page anchors
  • Unifyr's own platform redirect/tracking URLs
  • Signed URLs
  • Links a partner pastes into their own newsletter/tools outside the platform
